GRAPE - THE FOUNDATION OF EVERYTHING
Emerencia Winery is a classic, artisan winemaker founded in 1993 in Olaszliszka. However, the family’s connection to viticulture dates back even earlier, all the way to 1986. To this day, cultivation takes place on a relatively small area — only 5 hectares of vineyards — reflecting the belief that quality is more important than quantity, especially when crafting wines for discerning customers and tasters.
Within this compact yet complex wine region, each vineyard parcel has its own unique microclimate. The family owns several plots across different vineyards such as Rány, Rudnok, and Haraszt, all of which offer ideal topographical and climatic conditions for the development of noble rot — a key element in producing truly distinctive Tokaj wines.
TRADITIONS
FOR THERE ARE THINGS THAT MUST NOT BE CHANGED
The small winery sells around 20,000 bottles annually, including both dry and sweet varieties. However, their main products are traditional Tokaji wine specialties made through spontaneous fermentation, such as Aszú, Aszúeszencia, Eszencia, Szamorodni, and Fordítás. For those interested in these wines and traditional tastings, they have created a wine cellar that can accommodate nearly 40 guests, serving as an excellent venue not only for wine dinners but also for friendly gatherings.

The winemaking profession is a privileged field deeply rooted in tradition. We draw nourishment and inspiration by reaching back to the old times and transforming them with a modern perspective. Tokaj-Hegyalja is one of Hungary’s 22 wine regions. For us, it is different from the other 21 in every way because our roots are here, and through our work, we aim to contribute to the history and winemaking heritage of this region.
